In a world of widely distributed knowledge and rapid disruption, companies cannot afford to rely solely on their own captive innovation centers. Enterprises today are increasingly embracing open innovation as a strategy to harness new innovation potential. Innovation ecosystems include universities, start-ups, governments and other enterprises – that enable exchange of ideas, discovery of opportunities for new products and solution development, and create new channels for market exploration.
Open Innovation is at the core of how we do research at Conduent Labs India. We closely collaborate with both academia and industry, bringing in technical and scientific depth and new business potential to strengthen Conduent’s key offerings. We work with several leading academic institutions around the globe to augment our scientific and technical research, shape our research agenda and define future products and services. We enjoy strong partnerships with MIT Media Labs, Duke University, INRIA, Eindhoven University of Technology, Singapore Management University, Manipal University, IIT Mumbai-Kanpur-Chennai, Indian Institute of Science, and Indian Statistical Institute. A strong student fellowship and internship program complements the Open Innovation partnerships. Interns and postdoctoral students have the opportunity to work with us as part of the program.
Industry partnerships form the second pillar of our open innovation program, which comprises of startups and other large enterprises. Such strategic partnerships allow Conduent to expand its core offerings, while providing an opportunity for new market/business creation. Our models of engagement include technology licensing, joint research and co-innovation with partners.
